IAHN GDE PUDJA MATARAM POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM STRENGTHENS RELIGIOUS CULTURE THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE AND DHARMIKA COMMUNITY FORUM

Mataram, 21 September 2026 — Hindu values are far more than ritual practice. They are the very foundation of character building, social harmony, and sustainable community life. This living truth took center stage on Sunday, 20 September 2026, as the Postgraduate Program of the State Hindu Institute of Religion (IAHN) Gde Pudja Mataram brought together academics, community leaders, and the Dharmika community for a meaningful Community Service (PKM) and public discussion at Pura Parwata Awan Rinjani, Sambik Elen Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency. Under the theme “Internalizing Hindu Values in Strengthening the Religious Culture of the Dharmika Community — 2026,” the event served as a vibrant platform to bridge academic insight and community experience, reaffirming timeless spiritual values in daily life amid an ever-changing world.

The gathering was graced by the Rector of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Wirata, and the Director of the Postgraduate Program, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Ardhi Wirawan, alongside faculty members, students, Hindu religious instructors, and community representatives. In his address, Director Prof. Dr. I Wayan Ardhi Wirawan emphasized that strengthening religious culture goes beyond knowledge — it demands action. “Through this initiative, we reaffirm the noble values of Hinduism in everyday life. We seek to deepen our religious culture and empower the Dharmika community to become agents of change: people of strong character, tolerance, and sustainable purpose.

Understanding these values is not enough — they must shine through our attitudes and deeds,” he said, outlining a vision where the community stands united in Dharma, bound by mutual respect, shared responsibility, and a commitment to preserving both heritage and future generations.Following the service program, the event transitioned into an open, participatory discussion session where attendees exchanged ideas on practical strategies to nurture religious life, expand the Dharmika community’s role, and build lasting partnerships between higher education and society. This engagement reflects the institute’s core mission: to ensure academic scholarship does not remain within campus walls, but translates into real, meaningful benefit for the community it serves.

The initiative stands as a living example of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi , i.e., the Three Pillars of Higher Education, placing community service at the heart of IAHN Gde Pudja’s identity. The program also advances key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education, Sustainable Communities, Peace and Justice, and Partnerships for Progress. By weaving local spiritual heritage with global responsibility, IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram positions Hindu higher education not only as a center of learning, but as a trusted partner in building a more harmonious, ethical, and sustainable world.

This activity at Pura Parwata Awan Rinjani underscores a clear commitment: the Postgraduate Program exists not only to produce scholars, but to nurture leaders of wisdom and compassion — leaders who lift their communities and walk the path of Dharma together. With every initiative, IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram continues to stand where tradition meets progress, and where education serves the common good. Together, we live Dharma. Together, we build a stronger future. (by: DKS)
