Mataram – Institut Agama Hindu Negeri (IAHN) Gde Pudja Mataram officially commenced the Field Assessment for the accreditation of its Doctoral Program in Hindu Religious Education by hosting an opening ceremony at the second-floor meeting hall of the Rectorate Building. The event marks an important milestone in the university’s continuous commitment to strengthening academic excellence and ensuring the quality of higher education. The assessment is conducted by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Education (LAMDIK) and is led by two distinguished assessors, Prof. Dr. Drs. Wayan Paramartha, S.H., M.Pd. and Prof. Tiwi Etika, S.Ag., M.Ag., Ph.D.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of government institutions and Hindu organizations, including the Head of the Hindu Community Guidance Office (Bimas Hindu) of West Nusa Tenggara Province, the Head of the Hindu Community Guidance Office of Mataram City, the Chairpersons of the Provincial and City Chapters of the Indonesian Hindu Council (PHDI), university leaders, academic and administrative officials, lecturers, students, alumni, and various stakeholders. The event began with the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem, followed by the Hymn and March of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram. The ceremony continued with a prayer led by Prof. Dr. Drs. I Wayan Murba Widana, M.Ag, creating a solemn atmosphere before the official proceedings commenced.
In his welcoming remarks, Rector of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Wirata, A.Ma., S.E., M.Si., officially welcomed the LAMDIK assessors, distinguished guests, and all participants while expressing his sincere appreciation to the accreditation task force and everyone who had contributed to the successful organization of the field assessment. The Rector described the field assessment as a vital quality assurance process that enables the institution to demonstrate the implementation of its academic standards, verify the consistency between documented evidence and actual practices, and obtain constructive recommendations for continuous institutional improvement. He also expressed his hope that the assessors would provide valuable guidance and professional recommendations to support the university’s future development and strengthen its commitment to academic excellence.
Concluding his address, Prof. Wirata officially declared the commencement of the field assessment by reciting the Hindu mantra, Om Avighnam Astu Namassiddham, before announcing the event officially open. The solemn declaration reflected the university’s aspiration for a smooth, successful, and meaningful assessment process. Representing the assessment team, Prof. Wayan Paramartha emphasized that the primary purpose of the field assessment is to enhance institutional quality through a comprehensive process of comparison, evaluation, and validation of the data submitted by the study program against LAMDIK’s nine accreditation criteria.
He stressed that the assessment is not intended to identify faults, but rather to ensure that the institution’s documented achievements accurately reflect its academic practices and quality standards. Prof. Paramartha also commended IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram for its thorough preparation and encouraged the full support and cooperation of all university members and stakeholders throughout the assessment process, which takes place from 30 June to 3 July 2026.
The field assessment represents another strategic step in IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of its academic programs and reinforce its position as a leading institution for Hindu higher education in Indonesia. Through a culture of continuous quality improvement, the university remains committed to producing competent graduates, advancing research, and contributing meaningfully to society. The opening ceremony concluded with a group photograph, symbolizing the shared commitment of the university, assessors, and stakeholders to fostering excellence in higher education.
