STRENGTHENING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: IAHN GDE PUDJA MATARAM HOSTS BAN-PT SITE ASSESSMENT FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM IN HINDU COMMUNICATION STUDIES

Mataram, May 8, 2026 – As part of its continuous commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance, the Undergraduate Program in Hindu Communication Studies at IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram underwent a three-day Site Assessment conducted by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) from May 8–10, 2026. The assessment marked an important milestone in the program’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality, institutional governance, and academic innovation.

The assessment was conducted by a team of distinguished assessors consisting of Prof. Dr. Hesty Sadtyadi, S.E., M.Si. from Raden Wijaya State Buddhist College and Prof. Dr. Ir. Euis Dewi Yuliana, M.Si. from Hindu University of Indonesia. Their visit was warmly welcomed by the university leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders who have contributed to the development of the study program over the years.

In his opening report, the Dean of the Faculty of Dharma Duta, Brahma Widya, and Dharma Sastra, Dr. Putu Somiartha, S.E., M.Si. expressed sincere gratitude to the assessment team for their presence and dedication throughout the accreditation process. He also acknowledged the remarkable efforts of the accreditation committee and all members of the academic community who worked diligently to prepare the required documents, evidence, and supporting materials.

The Dean emphasized that accreditation should not be viewed merely as an evaluation exercise, but as a valuable opportunity for institutional reflection and continuous improvement. According to him, the assessment process provides meaningful insights that can guide future development strategies and strengthen the quality culture within the faculty.

He further expressed optimism that the assessment would serve as a learning experience for all stakeholders while paving the way toward achieving the highest accreditation status. The collective commitment demonstrated throughout the preparation process reflects the institution’s determination to continuously improve and provide high-quality education for future generations.

During his remarks, the Rector of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Wirata, A.Ma., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd. welcomed the assessors and highlighted the strategic importance of accreditation in higher education. He noted that accreditation serves as an essential mechanism for measuring institutional performance, ensuring accountability, and encouraging continuous progress.

The Rector praised the dedication shown by faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and partners who contributed to the success of the assessment preparations. He stressed that academic excellence can only be achieved through collaboration and a shared commitment to institutional advancement.

“Let us continue to strengthen our synergy and work together for the advancement of our institution. Accreditation is not solely the responsibility of a study program; it is a collective endeavor that reflects the quality and aspirations of the entire academic community,” he stated.

Representing the assessment team, Prof. Dr. Hesty Sadtyadi expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality and professionalism demonstrated by IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram. He explained that a site assessment is a crucial component of the accreditation process, designed to verify and validate the information presented in the institution’s self-evaluation report and performance documents.

According to him, the assessment provides assessors with a comprehensive understanding of how academic and administrative processes are implemented in practice. Through direct observation, discussions, and document reviews, the assessment team evaluates whether the institution’s reported achievements accurately reflect its actual conditions and performance.

He further clarified that the role of assessors is not merely to evaluate, but also to ensure that the accreditation process remains objective, transparent, and evidence-based. For this reason, active participation and support from all university stakeholders are essential to ensure a smooth and productive assessment process.

Prof. Hesty also expressed her hope that faculty members, students, alumni, and institutional partners would continue to provide the necessary cooperation throughout the assessment period, enabling the process to be completed efficiently and according to schedule.
